Every K-12 district right now is working on three questions at the same time. How do we put AI tools in place that genuinely improve staff capacity? How do we turn district data into the insights leadership actually needs? How do we do it responsibly while operationalizing the AI policy our board is about to approve?
The Cohort is how founding districts answer those questions together. MyAliVista (MAV), powered by MyBenefitsChannel (MBC), provides the platform, the AI expertise, and the foundation. Districts contribute what no outside team can supply: how the work actually gets done inside their schools. Districts bring the knowledge of how their work actually gets done. MAV brings the platform, the infrastructure, and the expert team to build it. Together, no district has to start from scratch or go at it alone.
Each state has its own regulations, oversight, reporting requirements, and priorities. Each state’s K-12 leaders, boards, and educators decided how schools should run there. AI done right has to honor that. The Cohort is built state by state for that reason. Founding districts work alongside other districts in their own state, under their state’s framework, with the state’s own Advisory Council shaping what gets built.
More than 35 states have issued K-12 AI guidance recommending human oversight, data privacy, staff training, and formal vendor vetting. MAV’s governance architecture is built on those same foundational principles, so districts start from a platform designed for responsible AI use, not retrofitted for it. The Cohort is how districts operationalize them together.

Who the Cohort is for
A balanced cross section of districts in your state. Not just the most advanced.
The founding cohort in each state wants every kind of district represented. Large urban systems. Rural districts with two HR staff. Suburban districts in the middle. Districts that have a board-approved AI policy and districts that are six months away from one. Being the most technology-forward district is not the requirement. Being one of the most representative is.
What qualifies a founding district is straightforward. Superintendent buy-in. Two designated Champions. One genuine operational challenge your team wants AI to help address.
The Cohort is built so that what a small rural district figures out helps a large urban district, and what a large urban district figures out helps a small rural district. That only works if every kind of district is in the room.
The Advisory Council
Each state has its own. That is the point.
Each state has its own regulations. Its own oversight bodies. Its own reporting requirements. Its own priorities and agendas. AI done right has to follow that reality, not fight it.
Each Cohort state forms a K12 AI Advisory Council. A standing group of K-12 stakeholders from across the state who help get AI right for districts there. Superintendents. Business managers. HR directors. IT directors. State association leaders. School board members. Districts of every size, region, and demographic make-up.
The Council does two things. It shapes what MAV builds next, so the platform reflects how districts in the state actually work. And it informs how Cohort districts and state leaders think about AI policy and governance within the state’s own framework.
The people closest to how K-12 actually runs in your state are the people who should be shaping how AI runs inside it. The Advisory Council is how that happens, state by state.

The Staff Capacity Tracker documents what your district actually achieves. Not what other sectors report. What your team gets back, by position, by department, by district, reportable to your board.
The Pace
This is not a race. No district is left behind.
The Cohort moves as one. Phase 1 launches together on October 1, 2026. Phase 2 and Phase 3 open when the Cohort is ready, not on a fixed calendar.
AI tools take time to build, test, and trust. Real district needs drive the schedule. Your district decides when to take each next step. A small district whose HR team is still learning Phase 1 will not be pushed forward because a larger district moved faster. A district that wants to run Phase 1 for a full year before considering Phase 2 will be supported in that decision.
This pacing is by design. The Cohort was built so founding districts could move with confidence, not pressure.

Ask AliV launches, ready for your foundational documents. The Purchase Orders and Requisitions (POR) app is available for implementation. The MAV Mobile app deploys with AliV access for every Cohort employee. AliVista University training begins October 15. Your two Champions begin discovery sessions with the MAV team. End Phase 1 with Ask AliV answering from your loaded data, the Governance Dashboard active, and Champion certification underway.

Questions Districts Ask
Straight answers. No vendor language.
The founding cohort is deliberately a cross section of districts, not just the most advanced. A rural HR team and a metro technology staff both contribute something the other cannot. What qualifies a district: superintendent buy-in, two designated Champions, and one genuine operational challenge.
Isolation is enforced at the architecture level. Data is never shared, never commingled, and never used to train AI models outside the MAV platform. We provide the security information your IT risk manager needs to evaluate the platform.
Those are individual productivity tools. MAV is a private platform running on your district’s own operational and administrative data, with AI activity tracked through the Governance Dashboard. Most districts will need both. MAV is how the existing commercial AI activity in your district comes into a governed environment your IT director can see and your board can report on.
Year one is $0 for every founding district. Founding membership includes up to 25 MAV employee seats, the Purchase Orders and Requisitions (POR) app, and the MAV mobile app with AliV access. Additional MAV seats available at a 50% discount during the Cohort year. AliVista University training is free for every employee in the district regardless of MAV seat count. Founding members receive year-two pricing in writing before year one begins: a 25% discount on the standard rate.
Champions are your district’s two primary connections to the Cohort. They attend roundtables, onboard staff into AliVista University, and report back on what is working. They do not need to be technology experts. They need the desire to learn, grow, and help teammates.
